Overview of Musicals Steve has Performed In
Many will have come to know of Steve through his first major West End role as Jesus in Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar", but Steve has performed in other musicals as well. His voice is expressive and versatile, and seems to move effortlessly between styles and genres whether he is performing in a musical, or as part of a band or as a backing vocalist.
Some of the roles Steve has peformed include:
Jesus - in the 1996 London West End production of Andrew Lloyd Webber's "Jesus Christ Superstar". Steve also performs as Jesus on the double disc set and the single CD "Highlights" of this production which also featured Dave Burt, Alice Cooper, and Joanna Ampil.
Phoebus - in the the London West End production at the Dominion Theatre, version of Notre Dame de Paris based on the The Hunchback of Notre Dame by Victor Hugo, (original lyrics by Luc Plamondon and music by Richard Cocciante, with English lyrics by Will Jennings). Also on the UK cast recording of this production are Celine Dion, Bruno Pelletier, Luck Mervil, Tina Arena, Natasha St-Pierre, Daniel Lavoie and Garou.
Eric Woolfson's POE: More Tales of Mystery and Imagination
Edgar Allan Poe - in the the London premiere of Eric Woolfson's musical which was performed live at the famous Abbey Road Studios in London in November 2003. A CD recording is available, which also featured vocals by Fred Johanson and Eric Woolfson, who are on the recording but were not in the live performance at Abbey Road. The live performance at Abbey Road was recorded for a DVD and is rumours of its upcoming release are increasing. (Contact your favourite DVD/music store to ask if they have been given a release date for it yet.)
Steve has also performed music from Mal Pope's "Amazing Grace" as well as a special appearance in the new musical by Jonathan Smith and Dom Hartley entitled "Vision - Bernadette's Stunning New Musical" . Steve has also performed in various other musicals early in his career, including Les Miserables.
