www.SteveBalsamoFan.com
Unofficial Fansite for Steve Balsamo
We are a group of Steve's fans that want to show our support in a positive way,
- We respect the value of music, and the value of copyright.
- We understand that there are all different types of fans, all of which have something to offer the community.
- The length of time someone has been a fan does not make them any more or any less of a fan. (Everyone has to start somewhere!)
What we want to provide is a website for fans to visit where they can learn about Steve and some of his many projects and friends, in an environment where we try to have fun but not at the expense of other's feelings (which includes Steve, his friends and family, colleagues and management, and of course each of you, the fans).
This website is provided as entertainment and reference only.
It is a fan-originated site, and is unofficial and independent (ie we do not receive any money from Steve Balsamo, his management, record labels, merchants, or anyone else to run this website).
We post links to other musicians and events websites as our effort to grow the community of artists, writers, record shops/merchants, fans and promoters as we understand that we can better support each other if we all work together as a community. Rather than support the notion of "rich and famous" we support the hope of enough for everyone, and the love of the music itself.
A website of this nature is always going to be "under construction". Any errors or omissions are purely unintentional, and we are more than happy to make any additions or amendments.
Forum/Messageboard Guidance
Whenever you post a message, please remember that it can be read by anyone. This includes but is not limited to record companies/labels, managers of artists or artists that may be considering working with Steve, band members, family members of Steve or the band, other musicians, booking agents, venues, the media, organisations that look after IP rights, and members of the legal profession.
If we see something posted on the messageboard which we feel is slanderous/liable, untrue, nasty or vindictive, violates Intellectual Property rights, encourages dangerous/illegal acts, or may be detrimental to anyone's career in any way, we will need to delete that sort of message. (See our Terms and Conditions page for more information.)
We will also attemp to contact the person that posted the message to explain why we have deleted it, as it is likely that it was not posted maliciously, but more probably because of the "casual" style of conversation and humour that sometimes is present on messageboards/forums.
We do not mean to offend anyone by deleting a message, but would like to take the opportunity to explain the situation to the person and give them the benefit of the doubt. We all may make mistakes from time to time but the difference is to learn from them so you don't make the same mistake again.
If however someone is posting malicious messages on purpose, we reserve the right to ban them from our messageboard and report them to their service provider and the police if neccessary.
When posting messages to the messageboard/forum, please also remember that the messages may be read by people who do not speak English as their native language and may therefore be relying on translation software to understand the text. Typing using "shorthand" styles such as text messaging abbreviations and slang expressions may cause confusion to some people. Please remember that there are other fans all over the world that will be reading what you post, so things that are easy for you to understand in your native language may not be understood by others.
It is also worth mentioning that humour can be difficult to communicate in an online environment - please use the emoticons(smilies) freely and remember that your idea of "humour" may sound like a nasty remark to some visitors. Styles of humour vary from country to country and so it is best to never assume that everyone understands your humour.
Imagery of CD's/Records/Tapes/DVD's etc is used for reference only and are used with kind permission from the artists/their management/labels. Where possible we have contacted them and obtained permission to use a small scanned image of the cover only for reference purposes, however if you are an artist/manager/record label that we have been unable to contact and you would prefer that we not use an image of the item only for reference, please do contact us for its removal.
Imagery from fans (artwork, photos, banners, avatars, etc) remains the copyright of the fan that created it.
Imagery and logos created by Denise Sargeant for use on this website, remains with Denise Sargeant, however we believe in spreading the word, so we encourage you to "right click" on the photos and logos we have created to save copies for yourself, e-mail copies to your friends, - just spread the word everywhere - and please make sure you tell the person you send it to where you found the images so they can visit here too!
Most of the images on the site are optimised for use on the web (which is a technical way of saying that they look okay on the screen, but the resolution is not good enough to get them to print very well)! There is a big difference in what is suitable for the web/suitable for print, and feel that we should explain this to you just so everyone is aware. If you do print out any images you do so at your own risk as we cannot be liable for any costs you incur resulting from attempted printing.
Please refer to our Terms and Conditions page for further information.
If you have any questions or comments regarding this website, please feel free to contact us.
